The Encourado - The Devil

Played in the film with exceptional energy by Rubens Teixeira, the Devil, who is the prosecutor at the judgment, is a kind of antagonist of João Grilo. Much like him, he is also astute, full of tricks, and almost manages to take everyone to hell. For this very elaborate costume, including pants, doublet, cape and hat, Brennand followed the traditional northeaster belief of the Encourado, in which the devil wears leather clothing and dresses like a cowboy.
