The Fundação Edson Queiroz is proud to present the exhibition Armorial 50, a tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Movimento Armorial, conceived by the visionary Ariano Suassuna, one of the most significant figures in Northeastern and Brazilian popular culture.
With the objective of creating a genuinely popular erudite art rooted in the most authentic cultural expressions of the Northeast and other regions of Brazil, the movement produced vibrant expressions in dance, music, literature, visual arts, and theater. It continues to inspire generations of artists who keep the Armorial art alive.
Hosting this exhibition at the Espaço Cultural Unifor is a celebration of the richness of our cultural roots, which blend Iberian, Indigenous, and African influences to form a unique artistic identity. Armorial 50 reaffirms the importance of valuing and promoting this heritage, which connects us to our history and our essence as a people.
The exhibition invites the public to immerse themselves in the fantastic universe of the Romanceiro Popular do Nordeste, exploring works that enchant with their lightness, rich colors, and profound narratives. It is a rare opportunity to experience the creative force of the Movimento Armorial and reflect on the plurality that shapes our culture.
Take this chance to explore the fascinating world of Armorial 50. More than an exhibition, it is a celebration of our traditions and the transformative beauty of a popular erudite art that reflects the spirit and identity of Brazil.
