A Compadecida - Costumes

Atualizado: 8 de mai. de 2023

A Compadecida, from 1969, by director George Jonas, is a very faithful film version of original text by Ariano Suassuna, keeping its main characters unchanged.

Francisco Brennand conceived almost a hundred costumes for the film, creating drawings and paintings. The costumes were made in the town of Brejo da Madre de Deus, whose houses were painted and decorated for the movie by Lina Bo Bardi.

We present here a recreation of the costumes especially for the show by costume designer Flávia Rossette.

Selected for their relevance, the characters wear the costumes used in the most emblematic scene of the film - The Trial
