Miguel dos Santos (1944)

Miguel dos Santos was born in Caruaru, PE, but has lived in João Pessoa, PB, where he has his atelier, since 1960. He participated in the second exhibition of Armorial art with paintings, and still continues very active, but now dedicated to ceramics. His very personal sculptures, related to magical realism, are inspired by mythical or fantastic animals that incorporate vestiges of the past and references to ancestral gods. His ceramic modeling technique is exceptionally good and allows the artist to create large objects.

In 2009, the Prefeitura de João Pessoa commissioned A Pedra do Reino, the sculpture that is located in the Parque Sólon de Lucena, one of the city ́s most important symbols This work is a tribute to Ariano Suassuna.
